AsciiDoc language support for IntelliJ platform.

AsciiDoc is a text document format, similar to formats like Markdown, for writing notes, documentation, articles, books, ebooks, slideshows, web pages, man pages and blogs. AsciiDoc files can be translated to many formats including HTML, PDF, EPUB, man page. AsciiDoc is, in contrast to Markdown, highly configurable: both the AsciiDoc source file syntax and the backend output markups (which can be almost any type of SGML/XML markup) can be customized and extended by the user.

If you want to use the JavaFX instead of the Swing preview, you'll need to run IntelliJ with 64bit Java. If your IntelliJ distribution doesn't come with 64bit Java, you'll need to have an environment variable `IDEA_JDK` or `IDEA_JDK64` pointing to the installation folder of a 64bit Java. See Jetbrains support database for more information.

Support Java 8u111, improved formatting actions
Hello Jochen, this is now fixed in release 0.16.2. Enjoy! Please file any other issue using our issue tracker on GitHub.
Great plugin but the JavaFX-preview (which looks a lot nicer than the Swing-preview) doesn't render images. Switching to Swing instantly displays them.
Thank you Bodiam for you answer. Even titles would be great, but there isn’t anything. It’s all just plain text. Did you check it in the newest version of PHPStorm? As I said, I know about the option to split the window, but it’s more a PHPStorm function and to be honest, it's terrible solution :). Because it takes some time to open it, but mainly – it stays there so if you wanna work with other files, which people usually does, you have to close it. So then open it again etc. So it’s much faster just use the current solution with the tab. So that’s why I asked if you plan something like the markdown plugin has. It’s really quite handy – the preview opens every time you open the file and closes the same way. And on top of that you can choose between 3 states of representation. Thank you.
Hi Ondrej, The live preview is already there, but it's a bit hidden away. You have to split the editor (Window -> Editor Tabs -> Split Vertically) and open the document twice. That way you can live preview your typing. Highlighting only works for titles and code blocks AFAIK, and it was even hard to implement for Dimitry, who created IntelliJ, so don't expect too much there unfortunately.
Hi, And thanks for the plugin. I’m trying to skip from markdown to Asciidoc, but there are still two things which bothers me. Basic Syntax Highlighting – in my files it doesn’t seems to do anything. It’s all plain text, but from the description there is supposed to be at least “basic syntax highlighting”. Am I doing something wrong? Preview – I know there is the tab and I know about the option to split the window (terrible solution), but it would be really awesome to have something like markdown plugin does. The preview is right next to the editor and you can switch from full editor, half/half and full preview. It’s really handy. Do you plan that? But still for your work anyway.
After a bit of searching I found this help page: but after moving Opera to the top of the list and pointing the path to /Applications/ it still doesn't fire up the preview in my browser. Any help would be appreciated.
This is a REALLY handy plugin, thanks! I'm just having trouble with the open in browser functionality. It doesn't seem to work out the box with any of the browsers I have installed (i.e. Safari, Opera). I can't seem to find any settings where I can point it to an application. It's not a showstopper but would be great if I could get it to work.
Hi Grumpy Bear, Is this still a problem for you? I've updated the plugin twice in the meantime, and I hope the plugin is usable for you. If not, please report an issue on the Github page, and I'll help you out. Erik
omething went wrong cannot create class "vietj.intellij.asciidoc.AsciiDocAction" (too bad I use a lot asciidoc on my project!) but wait a minute I am on java IDEA not phpStorm (though the plugin was advertised by my idea and downloaded) ...
