Spelling Checker for IntelliJ IDEA based around the open source Jazzy engine (http://jazzy.sourceforge.net/). Includes a smart document checking mode that only checks string literals, comments and Javadoc.
To get rid of that plugin find the intelliJ settings folder in your home folder,e.g. ".IntelliJIdea90" and inside just delete the spell checking folders under "config/plugins".

Doesn't work in Version 9.0.3 either. Same message "Plugin file SpellCheckPlugin.jar contains invalid plugin descriptor file". I even get rid of that annoying message...

Doesn't work in IntelliJ 8.1.3; the linked webpage for the project returns a 404. Is anyone even maintaining this any more?
The error I get is after installation and restart IntelliJ gives a pop-up error message:
As it doesnt appear in the list of installed plugins there is no way to remove it, and searching the plugins directory on the file system turns up a blank.
So now I'm stuck with nag screen I cant do anything about. Nice one JetBrains.

Used it for a number of years. I have trouble with the custom dictionary.
