Recent change notes

Xalan Support. To debug with Xalan instead of SAXON, a supported Xalan version (2.7.x) should be present in the classpath or "-Dxslt.transformer.type=xalan" should be added as VM argument for the run configuration. Debugging with SAXON can be forced by adding "-Dxslt.transformer.type=saxon".

General usage instructions

Important: The plugin requires version 3 or later of the XPathView+XSLT-Support plugin. If this isn't installed yet, IDEA will automatically download and install it when installing the XSLT-Debugger plugin. If an earlier version is already installed, please upgrade the plugin manually.

The debugger is started with the regular "Debug" icon in the toolbar and is controlled by the well-known debugger actions in the "XSLT Debugger" tab that appears in the Run-Toolwindow.

Setting breakpoints and changing their properties in XSLTs works just like in Java files.

It requires saxon 9-3 only to be on classpath of module to run. XSLT 2.0 is working.

Is XSLT 2.0 supposed to be supported? I'm getting "1.0" by running the following:

Is 2.0 is supported? I am getting stylesheet compilation error "xsl:sort must be child of xsl:apply-templates or xsl:for-each" when using it with xsl:for-each-group. Is there a work-around or any plans for an update? Thanks in advance.

For advanced development a debugger may be very useful. This is the standard tool.

Sasha, thanks for 1.2.7.! IDEA(i use 9.0.4) + xslt debuger is the best pair for xslt with custom extensions developing. I try many IDEs.

Great plugin but getting timeout error when trying to run a large xslt file.

Output:
"Plugin did not connect to runner within timeout. Run aborted."

I also vote for Xalan :o)

Great plugin!

Can you update it for Diana and I'd also like to vote for Xalan support as my XSL calls Java code.

This is a amazing plugin. Very useful when writing complex XSLT.

I'd like to add one vote for adding Xalan support.
