Open files/tabs switcher to quickly switch between tabs with less keystrokes than Recent Files. Open files are selected from a list in most recently used order, similarly to Alt+Tab in Windows or Ctrl-Tab in Opera. By default the action is mapped to Alt+A, but another popular assignment is CMD+E.

Thanks to Timur Zambalayev for the original plugin, Martin Fuhrer for a major contribution in the form of a rewrite and Mark Scott for patching a bug. Follow further development of this plugin on GitHub or follow me on twitter for announcements and other things.

Question. I just upgraded to 14.x Ultimate and as always the first plugin I installed is the tabswitch plugin. But it shows a popup with the files list but does not autoselect a file. Is this a bug? v 3.0.8
This is great I can confirm that it works exltacy as described on PhpStorm 4.0 117.222 and plugin version 0.2.2.Is there any way to attach the documentation? (CMD-J) When I type a function the parameter popup shows me the parameters (which is dead useful) if there was any way of attaching the documentation as well I wouldn't need to go to the node site at all..
not working properly in Idea10
not always hides after switching
Great plug-in but I have to say I don't like the change from 2.1.5 to 2.1.7. I generally use the mouse as little as possible, but being able to use it to change the selected file was a useful feature IMHO. Alt+a, move mouse, release keys to switch to the desired file can sometimes be quicker than successive Alt+a (or Alt+Shift+a) presses. I'm rolling back to 2.1.5.
Essential plugin, have lived off alt-tab since TurboPascal in the 80s.
I'm new to IntelliJ, and this is the first 3rd party plugin I installed. It works great, and saves me time since I'm so comfortable with Ctrl-Tab. Thanks for the great plugin!
Alt-A editor-tab switching combined with the Navigator bar is all I need to quickly navigate Editor windows.
Life would be much harder without this plugin.
enhanced the efficiency of my work and made navigation much more easier
Good plugin. It's nice to switch quickly between tabs this way.
Simple, clean, very handy, and never in your way.
This plugin enables in IDEA native OS switching between editors. Like Alt+Tab in Windows, here you can use Alt+A. Very native and usefull thing.
