Note that you must regenerate your OST to see the effect of this fix.
\n
Issue 3003 - Fixed an issue where file copy/paste-for-overwrite in the IDE could result in IC prompting to remove the corresponding metadata files from the subscription and org. This is because the IDE actually does remove the original files and create new replacement files. IC now ignores the file removal events in this specific scenario.
\n
Issue 3004 - By default large numeric values are returned by the SOQL and SOSL query APIs in scientific notation, and the SOQL Query and SOSL Query tool windows simply show the returned data. Now those tool windows include a configuration option, Convert scientific notation values (disabled by default), that will convert these into their raw value counterparts for display and export. Note that this configuration option is actually shared between the two tool windows, so enabling/disabling it in one will do so in the other as well.
\n
Issue 3005 - Improved error handling and reporting if IC fails to clone the Salesforce Skills GitHub repo. Now the exact
git clone
command execution is written to the Messages tool window. There are several restrictions and limitations on\n when/how this functionality is available:\n
\n
Multiline strings are only valid in API v67.0+. When converting a simple string literal\n or string concatenation expression to a multiline string in a file with an insufficient\n API version, IC automatically updates the Apex source file API version to the\n project/connection API version if at least 67.0 or the most recent platform API version\n — currently 67.0 — if not.\n
\n
Currently multiline strings are only valid in Apex source files with
LF
\n (
\\n
) line separators. When converting a simple string literal or string\n concatenation expression to a multiline string, IC automatically converts containing\n files' line endings accordingly if needed. IC also includes a separate inspection for\n detecting Apex source files containing multiline strings and non-LF line separators and\n a quick-fix to change those files' line separators to LF.\n
\n
The inspection is only enabled for simple string literals and string concatenation\n expressions that begin with a simple string literal and contain no multiline string\n literals.\n
\n
By default, the inspection is only enabled for simple string literals and string\n concatenation expressions that contain one or more newline (
\\n
) characters,\n and the resulting multiline string is split based on those newlines resulting in the\n exact same contents. These two options can be enabled and disabled as desired.\n The inspection also includes an option to enable it for string concatenation expressions\n that do not contain any newlines but do span multiple lines. When this option is\n enabled and used, the resulting multiline string is split based on the editor line\n breaks found in the original string concatenation expression. Note that this\n changes the contents of the resulting string, but in many cases it does so\n according to the author's original intention. This option is disabled by default\n and must be enabled explicitly. The results of a multiline string conversion based on\n inferred line breaks should be reviewed carefully.\n
\n
\n As noted previously, the quick-fix automatically converts all non-string literal expressions\n found in string concatenation expressions into string template variables. These variables are\n named based on the original expressions using what I hope are quite expressive and\n representative names, but if you find that some expressions are yielding incorrect and/or\n invalid variable names, please provide concrete examples so that I can improve them. As noted\n above, you can also use the IDE's Rename refactoring to rename string template variables\n and their usages easily. This inspection can be executed en masse to convert all supported\n string literals and concatenation expressions into the respective multiline strings using the\n IDE's Run Inspection by Name... action.\n
\n
\n
\n
Added support for the SOQL
FORMULA()
function. Note that this is not currently enabled in\n any of my orgs so I haven't been able to confirm successful deployment, but the grammar has been updated\n to include support, and IC provides code completions, reference resolution, syntax highlighting, etc.,\n for both the SOQL function and the formula expression contents.\n
\n
Fixed an accidental hard runtime dependency on LSP4IJ.
\n
Fixed an issue with SLDS Validator due to potential mismatched installed versions of LSP4J.
\n
\n
\n NOTE: I'm planning to spend the next week or two finally migrating the public issue tracker and user\n guide / wiki from Bitbucket Cloud into GitHub (including a long overdue refresh of the user guide content).\n As a result, there will be a slight pause on planned IC2 releases during this migration. Of course, if\n anything critical needs to be addressed during this time, I'll take care of it, and as soon as the migration\n is complete, I'll post links for the new resources. I'll then return to the standard (approximately) weekly\n IC2 release cadence.\n
\n ","since":"252.28539.33","until":"261.*","sinceUntil":"252.28539.33 — 261.*","channel":"","size":32711849,"downloads":2087,"pluginId":10253,"compatibleVersions":{"RUBYMINE":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","PHPSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","WEBSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","IDEA_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","IDEA":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5"},"author":{"id":"d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","name":"Scott Wells","link":"/author/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","hubLogin":"illuminatedcloud","icon":"https://hub.jetbrains.com/api/rest/avatar/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","showMarketoCheckbox":true},"modules":[]},{"id":1087419,"link":"/plugin/10253-illuminated-cloud-2/versions/stable/1087419","version":"2.4.0.9","approve":true,"listed":true,"hidden":false,"recalculateCompatibilityAllowed":true,"cdate":"1782413479000","file":"10253/1087419/IlluminatedCloud2.zip","notes":"\n
2.4.0.9
\n
\n
Issue 2979 -\n Fixed an issue that could cause the derived invokable declaration index to fail indexing, resulting in\n constant \"Analyzing\" behavior.\n
\n
Added support for aer-based integration test execution with aer\n 1.2.0+.\n
\n
Added support for Agent Script's
subagent
directive type including code completion,\n reference navigation, syntax highlighting, etc.\n
\n
Fixed an issue where class methods weren't being included in
System.Label
variant\n completions.\n
\n
\n ","since":"252.28539.33","until":"261.*","sinceUntil":"252.28539.33 — 261.*","channel":"","size":32616303,"downloads":2272,"pluginId":10253,"compatibleVersions":{"RUBYMINE":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","PHPSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","WEBSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","IDEA_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","IDEA":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5"},"author":{"id":"d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","name":"Scott Wells","link":"/author/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","hubLogin":"illuminatedcloud","icon":"https://hub.jetbrains.com/api/rest/avatar/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","showMarketoCheckbox":true},"modules":[]},{"id":1078632,"link":"/plugin/10253-illuminated-cloud-2/versions/stable/1078632","version":"2.4.0.8","approve":true,"listed":true,"hidden":false,"recalculateCompatibilityAllowed":true,"cdate":"1781553756000","file":"10253/1078632/IlluminatedCloud2.zip","notes":"\n
2.4.0.8
\n
\n
Issue 2974 -\n Summer '26 / API v67.0 update\n
\n
Updated the SOAP client for API v67.0.
\n
Updated the API version used for primary communication with Salesforce APIs to 67.0.
\n
Added 67.0 as an available API version number for configured connections.
\n
Updated
metadata.xsd
based on the API v67.0 Metadata API SOAP WSDL.
\n
Updated the OST version number to prompt regeneration for system API changes in Summer '26.
\n
Updated the bundled
completions?type=apex
Tooling REST API response to be based on\n the API v67.0 REST endpoint.\n
\n
Updated Visualforce, Aura, and LWC components, functions, modules, etc., for Summer '26 changes.\n
\n
Updated the bundled SLDS CSS and SVG icons to 2.30.4.
\n
Updated for new org features, standard value set names, metadata XML file type extensions, etc.
\n
Updated all integrated API documentation.
\n
Usages of SOQL
WITH SECURITY_ENFORCED
in Apex source files with API version 67.0+\n are now flagged as errors with a quick-fix to use
WITH USER_MODE
instead.\n
\n
Apex classes with API version 66.0+,\n
@InvocableMethod
-/
@InvocableVariable
-annotated members, and\n parameterized constructors but no no-arg constructor are now flagged as errors with a quick-fix\n to add a no-arg constructor. If\n both types of tests are found, the user is prompted which to execute with an option to\n set that as the run config test type going forward.\n
\n
\n Existing Apex unit test run configs are automatically grandfathered as being for unit tests.\n Context configurations that are based on one type of test, e.g., those for a specific test\n class or method, are automatically configured for that type. It's possible to change the test\n type for a run config in the run config editor as long as it's not inherently inferred from the\n scope of that run config. Note that run configurations for both unit tests and integration tests\n are called
Apex Unit Tests
in the IDE's run configuration editor because changing\n the run config type name to be more general caused issues with existing Apex unit test run\n configs.\n
\n
\n Note that integration tests do not generate code coverage, so Run with Coverage\n executors are not available for integration test-specific run configs. If an unspecified-type\n run config is executed for coverage for integration tests, the user is notified that coverage\n was not collected and will not be displayed.
\n
\n It is also not yet possible to execute integration tests with Apex Execution Runtime / aer via\n its command-line interface. I've spoken with October Swimmer about this and, once it is possible\n to execute integration tests via the command-line, I will enable that feature in IC.
\n
\n
\n
Added full support for\n Apex multiline strings:\n
\n
Updated the Apex parser for multiline strings.
\n
Added multiline string-specific syntax highlighting that clearly shows the boundaries of\n multiline string contents even when indented.\n
\n
Added support for formatting of multiline strings. The easiest way to do this in a durable manner is by adding a line comment\n of the form:\n

// language=<languageId>

\n immediately preceding the multiline string or associated declaration. The IDE provides\n code completions for available language IDs. Note that the language ID for SOQL and SOSL\n is
apex
.\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Issue 2973 -\n Fixed an issue that could prevent the new metadata format project wizard from displaying properly.\n
\n
\n ","since":"252.28539.33","until":"261.*","sinceUntil":"252.28539.33 — 261.*","channel":"","size":32617630,"downloads":3147,"pluginId":10253,"compatibleVersions":{"RUBYMINE":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","PHPSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","WEBSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","IDEA_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","IDEA":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5"},"author":{"id":"d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","name":"Scott Wells","link":"/author/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","hubLogin":"illuminatedcloud","icon":"https://hub.jetbrains.com/api/rest/avatar/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","showMarketoCheckbox":true},"modules":[]},{"id":1070218,"link":"/plugin/10253-illuminated-cloud-2/versions/stable/1070218","version":"2.4.0.7","approve":true,"listed":true,"hidden":false,"recalculateCompatibilityAllowed":true,"cdate":"1780942123000","file":"10253/1070218/IlluminatedCloud2.zip","notes":"\n
2.4.0.7
\n Minor bug fix release before next week's Summer '26 updates:\n
\n
Issue 2968 (redux) -\n Improved fix for an NPE when copy/pasting files to the IDE project.\n
\n
Issue 2972 -\n Addressed an potentially significant IDE memory growth issue introduced accidentally in the last few\n builds where IC's server metadata index could be included once per-file in what should otherwise be a\n very slim file-to-metadata cache.\n
\n
Several other minor fixes.
\n
\n Also, if you are having issues with validation and code completion in Salesforce metadata XML files in 2026.1,\n it appears to be a regression in the base JetBrains IDE, and I've logged a\n bug in their public issue\n tracker that clearly shows the correct behavior in 2025.3 and earlier and incorrect behavior in 2026.1.\n ","since":"252.28539.33","until":"261.*","sinceUntil":"252.28539.33 — 261.*","channel":"","size":32731669,"downloads":2243,"pluginId":10253,"compatibleVersions":{"RUBYMINE":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","PHPSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","WEBSTORM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","IDEA_COMMUNITY":"2025.2.6.1 — 2025.3","IDEA":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM":"2025.2.6.1 — 2026.1.5"},"author":{"id":"d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","name":"Scott Wells","link":"/author/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","hubLogin":"illuminatedcloud","icon":"https://hub.jetbrains.com/api/rest/avatar/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","showMarketoCheckbox":true},"modules":[]},{"id":1067149,"link":"/plugin/10253-illuminated-cloud-2/versions/stable/1067149","version":"2.4.0.6","approve":true,"listed":true,"hidden":false,"recalculateCompatibilityAllowed":true,"cdate":"1780592139000","file":"10253/1067149/IlluminatedCloud2.zip","notes":"\n
2.4.0.6
\n
\n
Issue 2964 -\n Fixed an issue where
AbstractFileType
files were being processed incorrectly during\n indexing.\n
\n
Issue 2965 -\n Fixed an issue where compiled LWC TypeScript
*.js
files weren't being properly added to\n deployment payloads.\n
\n
Issue 2966 -\n Increased the LWC TypeScript compilation timeout from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. While not a huge issue, this could result in a bit of a\n general workflow slow-down when, for example restarting the IDE. IC now includes an\n opt-in feature to store access tokens securely in the host JetBrains IDE's\n Password Safe.\n When enabled, the access token behavior is effectively the same as before 2.4.0.5, but now\n stored securely in either the OS' native keychain or KeePass. Starting with this build, IC accommodates for the\n changes around how connection access tokens are made available via CLI commands. For pre-2.136.8\n CLI versions, IC will use continue to the
org list
and
org display
commands to\n get CLI-based connection access tokens; for 2.136.8+ CLI versions, IC will use the\n
org auth show-access-token
command. IC automatically determines the installed CLI version\n and, for efficiency, caches that value aggressively, though it should be resilient to CLI\n upgrades/downgrades while running.
\n
\n In support of Salesforce's goal of not having access tokens stored in-the-clear in the file system,\n IC no longer caches them persistently across IDE sessions. They are still cached aggressively in-memory,\n but if/when the IDE is restarted, IC will need to fetch access tokens for CLI-based connections using\n the respective CLI command(s) when first needed and again, of course, when they become stale.
\n
\n Additionally the option\n Illuminated Cloud | Configure Application | GraphQL | Include connection information now defaults\n to disabled, though you can always enable that option if you'd like, understanding that it will\n result in the current CLI connection's access token being written to the project's\n
graphql.config.yml
file.
\n
\n IC should not be including CLI access tokens in
idea.log
unless debug logging is explicitly\n enabled by the user for the respective logging channels. However, based on each tool's own preferences and limitations, there are some tool-specific\n variances. IC shows the configuration scope of each tool/configuration combination, and once installed,\n the scope acts as a link to the actual configuration file(s).\n
\n
\n Salesforce hosted MCP servers considerations
\n The Salesforce hosted MCP servers generally require\n configuration of an External Client App (ECA)\n for MCP client authentication and authorization. In order to simplify these turnkey tool integrations,\n IC provides an option to Authorize Salesforce hosted MCP server requests automatically using its\n configured Salesforce org connections. This option is disabled by default, but when enabled, IC\n automatically queries the active MCP servers from the connected organization — and provides a\n convenient link to configure the org's active MCP servers if necessary — and configures the\n agentic AI tools to proxy all Salesforce hosted MCP server requests through IC so that those requests\n can be automatically decorated with IC's authorization header. Note that this proxy behavior\n does not inspect, capture, or otherwise compromise the contents of the proxied requests and\n responses, and all communications with the Salesforce hosted MCP servers are, of course, performed over\n HTTPS/SSL.\n
\n
Many other fixes and improvements.
\n
\n
Other news
\n
\n
The next major task will be adding full, first-class support for the new
UIBundle
metadata\n type and the associated on-platform support for React. Also as stated previously, the main things that are\n notably missing are the JavaScript debugger and Jest support, but I've addressed those omissions in IC.\n A demonstration of these features is available\n here.
\n
\n Note that the items described below are only available in free JetBrains 2026.1+ IDEs. All\n commercial JetBrains IDEs already have their own versions of the same features, and they will not\n work with earlier free JetBrains IDEs because they build on the 2026.1+ IDEs' free JavaScript and\n TypeScript support. Users pairing IC with a free JetBrains IDE are strongly encouraged to use\n 2026.1+ going forward.
\n
\n With that preface out of the way, IC now includes first-class support for execution\n (including continuous feedback via a watch runner), interactive debugging, and\n coverage analysis of LWC Jest tests. There are several pre-reqs including Node, Jest, and\n LSP4IJ (for DAP-based interactive debugging), but as usual, IC will help install and configure them as\n needed. Once installed, these features work pretty much exactly like they would for any other\n language/framework, with full integration into the IDE's project and editor views.
\n
\n There are several new application-level configuration options under\n Illuminated Cloud | Configure Application | LWC | Unit Tests (again, free JetBrains 2026.1 IDEs\n only):\n
\n
Integrate Jest (free IDEs 2026.1+) - Allows the entire feature to be enabled or disabled\n if desired. As with Apex unit test run configurations,\n Jest context configurations are read-only but can be duplicated as writable run configurations if\n desired.
\n
\n The following executors are available for Jest run configurations:\n
\n
Run - Executes all tests for the run configuration and displays results in the IDE's\n standard tool window.\n
\n
Watch - Executes tests for the run configuration using Jest's watch feature based on the\n aforementioned application-level configuration. The respective tests are automically re-run and\n test results displayed based on local source files changes. Also as described above, you can\n disable deploy-on-save when a Watch run configuration is active to streamline the local\n continuous feedback loop.\n
\n
Run with Coverage - Executes all tests for the run configuration, displays results in the\n IDE's standard tool window, and displays coverage information for the respective JavaScript and\n TypeScript source files in the IDE's standard coverage view, project view, and editor. Coverage\n is reported and integrated at the line-, statement-, function-, and logical branch-levels.\n Partially-covered branching logic is displayed in the editor in yellow (as opposed to green and\n red), and by clicking on the yellow gutter annotation, you can see the number of hits for each\n branch.\n
\n
Debug - Executes a single Jest test in the IDE's interactive debugger. This requires\n LSP4IJ's DAP support and the JavaScript DAP debugger. IC will help install both of these\n components if not detected.\n
\n
\n
\n With these gaps filled, the combination of IC and a free JetBrains 2026.1+ IDE should provide a\n very complete Salesforce development feature set. It is still possible to deploy metadata\n files using the Force Save and Deploy All/Modified Metadata actions, but simply\n typing Ctrl/Cmd+S will only save files to the local file system — triggering the\n aer watcher — and not the connected Salesforce organization. Enabled by default.\n
\n
\n
\n I have also investigated integrating this with Apex code coverage so that coverage metrics are\n constantly updated, but unfortunately I haven't found a good way to keep the IDE's coverage view open\n across test runs, and the resulting constant opening/closing of the coverage view is quite disruptive.\n I'll keep investigating and will hopefully find a good solution.\n
\n
\n ","since":"251.26094.121","until":"261.*","sinceUntil":"251.26094.121 — 261.*","channel":"","size":31692907,"downloads":5318,"pluginId":10253,"compatibleVersions":{"RUBYMINE":"2025.1.2 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM_COMMUNITY":"2025.1.2 — 2025.3","PHPSTORM":"2025.1.2 — 2026.1.5","WEBSTORM":"2025.1.2 — 2026.1.5","IDEA_COMMUNITY":"2025.1.2 — 2025.3","IDEA":"2025.1.2 — 2026.1.5","PYCHARM":"2025.1.2 — 2026.1.5"},"author":{"id":"d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","name":"Scott Wells","link":"/author/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","hubLogin":"illuminatedcloud","icon":"https://hub.jetbrains.com/api/rest/avatar/d3a57bf0-3424-4759-a4c6-ef1911026813","showMarketoCheckbox":true},"modules":[]},{"id":990477,"link":"/plugin/10253-illuminated-cloud-2/versions/stable/990477","version":"2.3.9.9","approve":true,"listed":true,"hidden":false,"recalculateCompatibilityAllowed":true,"cdate":"1773936243000","file":"10253/990477/IlluminatedCloud2.zip","notes":"\n
2.3.9.9
\n
\n
Enabled support for the 2026.1 JetBrains IDEs that are now in a\n release candidate state.\n As always, if you see issues with a pre-release IDE build, please revert to the most recent released\n build and let me know about the issues you've seen so that I can address them.\n
\n
Issue 2929 -\n Made sure that the connection icon includes a lock overlay consistently for connections that require\n write confirmation.
