CodeCompletionLive

Compatible with  IntelliJ IDEA
23.02.2007
7 502
CodeCompletionLive cycles through several completions. By default it is binded to Ctrl-Shift-Alt-U but it's better to rebind it to for example Ctrl-Space. To do that open Keymap from Settings, under Plug-ins - CodeCompletionLive you will see one action CodeCompletionLiveAction, bind it to a new shortcut. First it checks Smart Code Completion (Ctrl-Shift-Space) if no suggestion available it checks Basic Code Completion (Ctrl-Space) if still IDEA could find anything it triggers Class Name Completion (Ctrl-Alt-Space).

Also, here is an idea- any way to make TAB be an option so we can use Live Templates with CTRL+SPACE as well?

Thanks!

Our dev team finds this to be an extremely useful plugin. It's hard to believe more people haven't caught onto it yet.

We are very much looking forward to the release of the plugin for v8!!

Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thank you Dubik. CodeCompletionLive is reason why I have not yet switched to Idea 8. It is very hard for me to work without it.

Sorry guys, didn't get notifications about your comments. I'm still here and know that it doesn't work for 8. Lets see what can be done.

I have checked out the code but unfortunately I couldn\'t figure a quick fix. It looks like the original plugin was using internal APIs and these have radically changed between 7.x and 8.0. IMO the only chance to get this working again is: 1) either to contact the author 2) have somebody from IntelliJ look into it.

By looking at the activity around it looks like the original authors are not around anymore, so I am really wondering what can be done. Unfortunately, I don't have any knowledge of the IntelliJ Platform as otherwise I would have looked into it myself. Do you know anyone that could fix it?

I'm wondering if anyone knowing the IntelliJ platform has looked into this one and make it compatible with ver.8. I'd really love to have it working again.
