Getting started
Grazie Pro is a plugin for IntelliJ-based IDEs that provides intelligent grammar checks, completion, and writing assistance for natural language texts. It can check code comments, commit messages, and text files, including Markdown, AsciiDoc, and XML.
note
Grazie Pro is not the same as Grazie Lite – the plugin that uses LanguageTool to detect and correct grammar mistakes, supports 30 languages, and is bundled in IntelliJ-based IDEs.
To use Grazie Pro, you need to install it along with the bundled base Grazie Lite plugin.
Install Grazie Pro
Press CtrlAlt0S to open the IDE settings and select Plugins.
Switch to the Marketplace tab, search for
Grazie Pro
, select the plugin and click Install.

Local and cloud processing modes
Grazie Pro supports two modes:
Local processing for grammar checks and some other assistance features are available by default. It is safer because the plugin doesn't send your data anywhere, and it doesn't require an internet connection.
Cloud processing provides more sophisticated checks and assistance features.
For more information, see Connect to Grazie Cloud.
The following table shows the differences between the two modes:
Feature | Local | Cloud |

Connect to Grazie Cloud
By default, Grazie Pro processes all your data locally. This is safer and doesn't require an internet connection. Grazie Pro can also process text remotely for better quality checks and more assistance features.
For more information about differences between local and cloud processing modes, see Local and cloud processing modes.
