I am not very happy with the code suggestions given by Copilot. I think chatGPT output is way more accurate and more descriptive than Copilot.
I am not sure what AI model is used by Copilot it definitely needs to change.
Copilot itself is a great product, but this plugin does not bring its full potential to Intellij. It severely lags behind the VS Code plugin both in general stability and feature parity. I find this strange since Microsoft should certainly have a business interest in making Copilot the most usable coding assistant for Intellij - by far one of the most used commercial IDEs out there.
The copilot-language-server process on my Mac takes approximately 5.5GB or memory for each open project on Android Studio. This is unacceptable, and it is even worse considering I have disabled the autocomplete feature. In regards to the autocomplete feature, I find its UX to be very annoying, I don't like my code jumping around while I am writing code.
Please sort this plugin out for us humble intelliJ enjoyers, VSCode version is not miles ahead, its light years ahead with a superluminal velocity at this rate, PLEASE
This plugin is the WORST I ever worked with in intelliJ. It makes the IDE FREEZE for at least 40 seconds every time I open or close it. It also makes the IDE stutter, scrolling up/down the code has never been such frustrating. Also writing in the input box stutters as well. Everything stutters. I tried several versions of intelliJ, I also use the latest copilot version. Symptoms improve a bit when making the copilot window float. Is this some sick joke? Why isn't this being fixed for so long??
1.5.32-242 is using 3.5 gb of ram (copilot-language-server) when idea "only" uses 2.8 gb, I had to revert to 1.5.30-242 to have a normal memory usage (~320 mb)
Unable to select models like Anthropic's Claude 3.5 Sonnet, OpenAI o3, and GPT-4o as in VSCode. Also, @workspace is not available, and there is no option to set the response language to Traditional Chinese.

YesterdayI finally can see model selection in nightly update so I updated my rating from 1 to 3! However, where is the Edit/Agent mode selection?
